On 26th March, the government published its long-anticipated consultation on proposals to prohibit trail hunting in England and Wales.
The consultation follows a commitment in the 2024 Labour Party manifesto to ban trail hunting.
Born Free fully supports the proposals. We also urge the government to go further by removing additional loopholes in the Hunting Act that enable hunts to continue using hounds to pursue live wild animals, and to increase the penalties for offenders.
